As some other cruise lines have done, Holland America has decided to terminate all cruises, including ours.
On the last of our three changes in itinerary, our schedule was changed to include several ports in western Australia, ending in Perth before continuing on our journey into the Indian Ocean and beyond. However, yesterday we were advised that our cruise will terminate in Perth on March 24. Although our ship is coronavirus-free, we concur that the termination makes sense considering all of the potential health issues.
We don’t know yet how or when we will get home, but we know that Holland America is working hard to make our trip home and shipping of our luggage as painless as possible. Thus, we are in good spirits and awaiting more information from our captain.
This will likely be my next to last post before we get home. The last one will give details of our planned trip home.
This cruise has been amazing for us as we have visited many, many places that would have otherwise been unavailable to us. Even with all of the changes, we have only positive thoughts – no regrets!
You’ve been on my mind lately. Wishing you a safe journey home. May peace be with you as you process this unfortunate end to an amazing and bold adventure.
Safe travels – we are sending you all our best. We hope you will be able to travel back home fairly easily and healthy. Your positive approach to all this will keep you all in good stead – please give our warm wishes to all of you.
Hugs from afar. Edie & Dan
So sorry to hear this. Know how much you were enjoying this cruise. Hope you’ll be able to get back here safely & without to much difficulty. Still in Pompano Beach but will be heading home on Fri. unless something else changes. Travel safe & I’ll see you soon. Love you
I applaud HA decision. It is better that you stay safe and not further expose yourself to the virus. As many will want you to do, give us a call when you get home or shoot us an email or text to let us know you are safely home………..Love, Myron and Kathleen
